Ugreen’s NASync DXP8800 Ultra updates the DXP8800 Plus with a newer processor and support for more memory, while keeping the same chassis, drive bays and port layout. TechRadar’s Mark Pickavance reports that the changes may suit people running virtual machines or hosting AI, but are harder to justify for basic file serving.
The Ultra uses an Intel Core 7 150U and supports up to 96GB of memory, compared with the Plus’s 64GB ceiling. Both models have eight SATA bays and two M.2 slots. Ugreen lists the Ultra at $1,779.99, while the Plus was selling for $1,207.99 at the time of the review. Pickavance puts the difference at $570.
The review says the Ultra has been on sale since September 2026, without a Kickstarter campaign. It also notes that UGOS Pro still lacks Hybrid RAID technology and remains a work in progress. The reviewer considers the Ultra strong value against some rivals, but says its higher price is difficult to justify over the Plus when most of the hardware is shared.
