Logitech says costly meeting rooms are not enough for hybrid work

Companies are investing in conference rooms while overlooking the equipment used by remote participants, says Benny Andersson, Logitech’s Nordic marketing manager for B2B and education. Poor sound from a remote participant can affect the whole conversation, and room technology cannot fix every problem, he told Techtidningen.

Andersson argues that more employees returning to offices will increase, not reduce, the need for video-equipped meeting rooms, since colleagues and customers may still be in other locations. Larger workplaces also need technology that works consistently from room to room. He says employers asking staff to return should make sure desks, meeting rooms and other facilities are ready, and includes reliable technology among the reasons to come in.

Logitech is adding AI and more computing capacity to its meeting products as platforms such as Microsoft, Google and Zoom expand transcription and language features. The company says Right Sight 3 will automatically switch between multiple cameras to offer remote participants different views. It is planned as a free CollabOS software update in the second half of 2027.

Rally Bar 2, which combines a camera, microphones and speakers, is beginning sales with a new Qualcomm processor. Its Right Sound 3 processing uses AI for noise and echo reduction. Logitech says Sound Shape will direct sound toward listeners and reduce it in other directions; speakers are planned for summer 2027. Rally System 2 Pro, a modular setup for large, divisible rooms, is expected that same summer and can be configured and monitored through Logitech Sync.

Product details and timelines are from Logitech. The article is based on Techtidningen’s interview with Andersson.
