TechRadar reviewer Harry Padoan tested the Anker Nano 45W Smart Display Charger at home for a week. He found it charming, well-built and reliable, with a compact design and a display that shows a small character reacting to charging status and temperature.
The display also provides information such as power output and temperature. A button lets users turn on Care Mode, which the review says keeps the charger about 20°C cooler than international safety limits and the connected device’s battery around 5°C cooler. The reviewer did not find the charger excessively hot during use.
In testing, the charger took about 80 minutes to charge a Samsung Galaxy S24 FE with a 4,700mAh battery from 0%. However, it could not charge the reviewer’s Xiaomi 17 at its maximum supported rate: that phone supports 100W wired charging, while the Anker charger is rated at 45W. It has one USB-C port, so it can charge only one device at a time.
The charger offers three charging stages—Fast, Steady and Trickle—and recognizes iPhone models, displaying the identified model on screen. The review says free updates are planned to add recognition for upcoming iPhone models. The UK version tested has fixed prongs; the US version folds them away. The tested Orange color is among options intended to match the iPhone 17 line. TechRadar lists the price as $39.99 / £34.99 (about AU$55) and recommends it for people who need up to 45W and are content with one port.
