A user says Razer’s Synapse and Chroma software together consumed 2GB of system memory while the user tried to display a single lighting effect on Razer products, according to Wccftech.
The report argues that Microsoft’s effort to make Windows 11 more memory-efficient should include stricter requirements for third-party app developers to optimize their software. It also says a user had to disable 25 Razer services to free memory and run different software.
The report links the issue to a broader concern: it says a DRAM shortage has led companies to downgrade some configurations to 8GB of RAM, leaving less memory available for programs such as these. It does not identify the companies or configurations.
