Wabi, the startup known for letting users build apps with prompts, is repositioning its product as an AI messaging experience. The new version, Wabi 2.0, is designed to combine conversations, apps and tasks in one interface.
Founder Eugenia Kuyda described it as a “personal agent that does stuff for you and builds the interface you need in the moment.” Rather than relying on a chat stream alone, the agent could create an interface on demand to help with a task.
Examples Kuyda suggested include a calorie tracker, a weightlifting log and a weight tracker in a health-focused thread. A family-focused thread could include a calendar of children’s activities, a language-learning app and an app for local child-friendly events.
The shift gives Wabi a different position from prompt-based app-building tools, aiming instead at AI agents that combine conversation and productivity features. Kuyda said people want to interact by tapping and scrolling as well as typing, and argued that a powerful agent should combine both chat and software.
Wabi 2.0 is currently available by invite code, which the company is distributing on X. The source describes the product’s positioning and examples, but does not report user numbers, pricing or a general release date.
