Reolink OMVI 3i combines 180-degree views with 4K tracking

Reolink’s OMVI 3i combines a panoramic camera with a motorized pan-and-tilt camera in one outdoor security device, according to a TechRadar review by Chris Price. It is available in Wi-Fi and Power over Ethernet versions; the review tested the Wi-Fi model.

Two upper lenses produce a 180-degree panoramic view. A lower 4K, 8-megapixel camera can rotate horizontally up to 355 degrees and vertically up to 50 degrees. In the app, a viewer can select an area in the panoramic image for the lower camera to focus on.

The review says integrated edge AI can distinguish people, animals, and vehicles, with separate sensitivity settings. It also describes smart tracking, package detection, eight spotlights, and a 110dB siren. The camera can store footage on a MicroSD card, which is not supplied, or through Reolink’s cloud service. The reviewer notes stitching issues where the panoramic lenses combine their images.

Unlike Reolink’s Solar Floodlight Cam, the OMVI 3i runs on mains power and cannot use battery or solar power, so it needs access to an AC supply. The review lists cloud plans from £2.71 per month and says Amazon was offering the camera for £220 at the time of writing. These prices and availability may change.
