ExpressVPN has released version 14.3.1 for Windows, Mac, and Linux, TechRadar reports. The update extends Advanced Protection across all VPN protocols instead of limiting it to Lightway or Automatic.
Advanced Protection combines ExpressVPN’s ad, tracker, and malicious-site blockers. With version 14.3.1, the feature also works when users select OpenVPN or WireGuard. ExpressVPN says the rollout is gradual, so it may not appear for everyone immediately.
The update also introduces a rebuilt speed test designed to run faster and produce more precise results. Split tunneling is intended to be more reliable, and its setup guidance has been refreshed. On Windows, the feature stops scanning for new apps when it is disabled, reducing CPU usage. On Mac, split tunneling leaves DNS traffic alone so it can work alongside Advanced Protection.
Accessibility improvements let screen readers navigate the location list, protocol settings, split tunneling, and auto-connect rules. The app also announces connection status and settings changes.
Mac users receive a fix for Docker containers disrupting networking, while Windows gets improved installation reliability on ARM64 devices. Linux receives improved Lightway routing and DNS configuration on systems using resolvectl, including Pop!_OS, plus native desktop notifications.
Version 14.3.1 landed on September 22. Existing ExpressVPN installations should update automatically.
