Motorola unveils Signature 27 with Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6

Motorola has unveiled the Signature 27, which it describes as the most advanced smartphone it has ever created. The announcement comes just four months after the Lenovo-owned company launched the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra-rivaling Motorola Razr Fold.

The Signature 27 is the first phone announced with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6, introduced at Snapdragon Summit 2026. The same chipset is expected to power the rumored Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra, which will likely be unveiled early next year.

The phone is a de facto successor to the original Motorola Signature, announced in January. It is also Motorola’s first flagship to use the company’s numerical, year-based naming structure, positioning the device alongside the best Android phones of 2027.

The original Signature uses the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, a step below the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 found in the Galaxy S26 Ultra, Oppo Find X9 Ultra and other contemporary phones. Motorola has not revealed the Signature 27’s full specifications. The original model has a 6.8-inch quad-curved AMOLED display, a 5,200mAh silicon-carbon battery and three 50MP rear cameras. A teaser revealed that the new phone will include at least one 200MP Sony sensor in a four-camera rear setup.
