DJI’s Mic range explained: Mic or Mic Mini

DJI is best known for drones, but TechRadar’s Ruth Hamilton reports that the company has also established a broad microphone range for content creators. The lineup is divided into two main lines: Mic and Mic Mini.

The main Mic models are larger and aimed more at professional users. Depending on the model, they offer higher audio specifications, more adaptable noise cancellation, and features such as timecode and built-in storage. The Mic Mini line is more compact and lightweight, making it an entry-level option, although the main Mic models are not especially bulky.

The Mic 2 launched in 2024 and the Mic 3 launched in 2025. The Mini range includes the Mic Mini, launched in 2024, plus the Mic Mini 2 and Mic Mini 2S, both released in 2026. TechRadar awarded every model five stars in its respective review.

Within each line, newer models generally have more advanced specifications, though the differences between generations vary. The Mic Mini 2S adds several upgrades over the Mic Mini 2, including internal recording. Each model is available in bundles with transmitters (TX), receivers (RX), and charging cases, which can also broadly be bought separately.
