Creative ways people say they use ChatGPT

Some ChatGPT users are applying the AI assistant to tasks beyond writing, research, brainstorming and summaries, according to ideas collected by TechRadar’s Becca Caddy from Reddit discussions.

One suggested use is organizing clutter with photos. A user said ChatGPT could identify items in a junk drawer or box of power adaptors, suggest categories and help decide where groups should go. Caddy tested the approach on a box containing contact lenses, medication, cables, notes and hair ties. She said ChatGPT identified the items and returned an annotated, color-coded version of the photo to support sorting.

Another Reddit user described using ChatGPT to question potential purchases rather than encourage them. Caddy tested that idea while considering a treadmill or walking pad. ChatGPT pointed to her limited space, lack of enthusiasm for treadmill workouts and reluctance to spend the money, although she found the response brief.

A third idea involves showing ChatGPT an existing skincare collection and asking it to identify overlapping ingredients and products that may not be needed. Caddy said the response analyzed the products and their ingredients and was measured about suggesting additions.

TechRadar noted that these ideas are not fully tested recommendations. Caddy also warned that ChatGPT can make mistakes, presenting them as inspiration for more creative use rather than validated guidance.
