Marvel Studios has confirmed Ghost Rider as a new MCU movie starring Ryan Gosling. The announcement was made at San Diego Comic-Con 2026, where Marvel also confirmed that Shawn Levy will direct.
The film is scheduled to open worldwide on July 28, 2028. It will be the second of three MCU movies planned for 2028, following X-Men on May 5, 2028, and ahead of Black Panther 3 on December 15, 2028. The date could still change as development continues.
Filming has not begun, and no footage has been released. As of September 2026, Gosling is the only confirmed cast member. Jonathan Tropper is attached as writer, while a story synopsis has not been announced.
Gosling's involvement follows discussions reported in 2022 and again in March. The film is expected to be part of Marvel Phase 7. It will follow Avengers: Secret Wars, scheduled for December 17, 2027.
