IKEA’s Badkruka Bluetooth speaker brings Spotify Tap and stereo pairing

IKEA appears to be expanding its range of cube-shaped, low-price Bluetooth speakers with the Badkruka, a larger model that adds several features to the formula used by the Kallsup.

There is no official announcement yet. Details come from the product page on IKEA’s German website, while the speaker also appears on IKEA’s Swedish site. It has dimensions of 16cm wide, 16cm deep, and 17.5cm tall (6.3 inches x 6.3 inches x 6.9 inches), and is available in black or pink.

The speaker uses ABS plastic and polycarbonate. Product photos show a power cord, and IKEA does not mention a rechargeable battery, so it does not appear designed for portable use. Physical controls handle playback and volume, while a Spotify Tap button lets users resume Spotify playback from another device with one press.

IKEA does not list detailed audio specifications, but describes the sound as “powerful” and “balanced,” and suitable for gaming, streaming, or music. Two speakers can be paired for synchronized stereo sound. Additional speakers may also be synced; with the Kallsup, up to 100 can be paired.

There are three EQ settings. The Badkruka costs €50 on the German site, equivalent to roughly $58, £43, or AU$81. Global pricing has not been announced, and the speaker is not yet listed on IKEA’s US, UK, or Australian sites.
