Telia Group appoints Nirali Patel to lead technology strategy

Telia Group has appointed Nirali Patel as its new head of technology strategy. She has been responsible for shaping the company’s technology strategy for the past few weeks, according to Techtidningen.

Patel joins Telia Group from Liberty Global, the international telecommunications group. Liberty Global owns, among other assets, large parts of the telecommunications infrastructure in the United Kingdom.

In a post on LinkedIn, Patel said the role is to ensure that Telia’s technology strategy not only supports what the company does now, but also actively shapes what comes next.

She described a future in which AI is not merely a separate project, but is built into how the company thinks, makes decisions, and operates. Patel also wrote that she is grateful to work on this with a team that is already taking the future seriously.
