Atea is launching Model as a Service, an AI platform for organizations that want to use advanced AI models without building and operating their own infrastructure.
The service is developed in the Nordic region and delivered in a Nordic environment. It provides access to production-ready AI models through APIs while Atea manages the underlying AI environment, including operations, security, updates and regulatory compliance.
The platform also includes isolation, governance, monitoring and lifecycle management. Customers can combine different AI models and services in the same environment and change models as their needs or the market change. The platform supports both open and commercial language models and is designed to reduce dependence on a single AI provider.
According to Urban Järved, product owner for Model as a Service, the service is intended for organizations using generative AI in business-critical processes. Atea highlights the public sector, critical infrastructure organizations and companies with high requirements for security, control and regulatory compliance.
Customer data passes through the system as a question and an answer rather than being stored in Atea's systems in the ordinary sense. Urban Järved says the data is processed in Atea's data centers, Atea Cloud, in Sweden. Customers retain control over their data, integrations and use cases, while Atea takes responsibility for the operational AI environment.
