Xbox App Coming to Supported TCL Smart TVs

Microsoft is partnering with TCL to bring the Xbox app to supported TCL smart TVs in the coming months.

The app connects users to Xbox Cloud Gaming, allowing them to stream Game Pass titles or selected games they own as part of a subscription. Microsoft plans to introduce a pay-as-you-go option for Xbox Cloud Gaming in November. This will allow access to the cloud streaming service without an Xbox Game Pass subscription.

Microsoft has also been testing free, ad-supported cloud gaming with Xbox Insiders, which could roll out soon. At the same time, the company is limiting monthly cloud gaming hours for Game Pass subscribers. Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers will receive 15 hours of cloud access per month, while Premium subscribers will receive 10 hours and Game Pass Essential subscribers 5 hours. Subscribers who need more time will have to purchase bundles of additional cloud hours.

TCL joins other TV manufacturers working with Microsoft on the Xbox app. Hisense began adding the app to TVs running VIDAA OS earlier this year. The app is also available on many Samsung, LG, and Amazon Fire TV devices.
