ChatGPT’s Stickers Feature Turns Photos Into Chat Stickers

ChatGPT’s new Stickers feature creates personalized stickers from photos and can import the results into WhatsApp and iMessage.

The tool is available in the platform’s Image section on the ChatGPT mobile app. Users open the main + menu, choose Images, and select Stickers. They can use ChatGPT’s prepared prompt, adjust the style, or add emojis to the design. When the stickers are ready, the “Add to chat apps” button can send them to a WhatsApp or iMessage sticker library.

In testing with a photo of a chihuahua, the feature produced stickers that preserved enough of the dog’s identifying details to remain recognizable. Photographic versions kept the resemblance more closely, while chibi-esque illustrations offered more exaggerated expressions but changed details such as coloring and age.

The results were not perfectly consistent, and ChatGPT sometimes reinterpreted physical details. However, the feature proved more appealing for small, personal uses than for producing large volumes of disposable AI images. The test also found that the source photograph affected the outcome, with clear separation from the background and good lighting helping the result.
