Reliance Jio Opens JioPC Cloud Service to All Internet Users in India

Reliance Jio is opening its JioPC cloud PC service to any internet user in India, including people who use another telecom or broadband provider.

Originally launched in July 2025 for Jio broadband subscribers, JioPC streams a virtual PC from Jio’s cloud to an existing computer. The service is designed to give aging machines access to additional computing capacity without hardware upgrades. Jio says computers as old as eight years can use the service for modern AI applications.

Plans offer up to eight virtual CPUs, 16GB of RAM, and 1TB of storage. Subscriptions start at ₹1,000, about $11, for two months. A 12-month plan costs ₹4,000, around $42, with 8GB of RAM and 500GB of storage, while the 16GB and 1TB configuration costs ₹5,000, about $53.

IDC estimates that more than 65 million PCs were in use in India in 2025 and expects the installed base to approach 69 million by the end of 2026. Consumers and small businesses now typically replace PCs every five to six years, compared with four to five years in 2022. Enterprises are also keeping machines for longer.

JioPC requires a stable internet connection, so outages can affect the user experience. The service also faces competition from refurbished PCs. Jio has not disclosed much about the hardware behind the cloud service, and its published specifications do not mention dedicated AI accelerators for on-device generative AI workloads.
