IKEA has listed its first smart radiator thermostat, the IKEA Liljebagge, on its website in Sweden. The device supports the Matter and Thread standards and has a retail price of €15.
According to IKEA’s official listing, the Liljebagge can adjust the temperature in each room individually, be controlled when users are away, and fit most water-based radiators. Users can control it through the IKEA Home app or directly on the thermostat.
The built-in display turns off when it is not in use. Temperature adjustments are available in 0.5-degree Celsius increments through plus and minus buttons. The thermostat runs on two AA batteries, which are expected to last 18 months.
Using the device on a Matter network appears to require a Thread border router. Customers choosing IKEA’s system will also need the Dirigera hub.
The €15 price is lower than that of other smart thermostats described as offering the same function. The product has not yet appeared on other international IKEA websites, and IKEA has been asked for clarification about US and UK availability.
