AdGuard brings TrustTunnel to macOS with a native Mac App Store client

AdGuard has released a native macOS client for TrustTunnel, its open-source stealth VPN protocol, through the Mac App Store.

TrustTunnel previously required macOS users to work with command-line tools. Version 1.2 adds a graphical interface, removing the need for complex terminal commands or extra setup when running a self-hosted VPN server.

The protocol is designed to bypass deep packet inspection (DPI). It routes connections through TLS with HTTP/2 or HTTP/3, making VPN traffic resemble ordinary HTTPS web browsing to an outside observer or network administrator.

The macOS client includes a menu bar status icon, an option to launch automatically when macOS starts, and auto-connect when the application opens.

Version 1.2 also adds an “Export logs” option in the app’s settings across all platforms. Users can export diagnostic logs to help share connection or server-performance information with AdGuard’s support or development teams. The update also renames “Query log” to “Connection log” to clarify the data shown during troubleshooting.

AdGuard says the Mac App Store release is part of a wider effort to make its privacy tools more accessible. The company has also brought AdGuard VPN to the Microsoft Store and launched a dedicated iPhone app.
