Apple’s iOS 27 update is rolling out to the same iPhone models that supported iOS 26. The list includes the iPhone SE (2020), iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, and iPhone 11 Pro Max, while the iPhone XR, iPhone XS, and iPhone XS Max were excluded from iOS 26.
iOS 27 supports 33 iPhone models, and Apple began rolling out the update to all 33 on September 14. Older phones, including the iPhone 11, iPhone 12, and iPhone 13, remain eligible for the operating-system update.
- Apple Intelligence is limited to the iPhone 15 Pro and newer. Its features include Clean Up, Live Translation, and Siri AI.
- Siri AI is available only on devices that support Apple Intelligence. Expressive voices and advanced dictation require Apple’s AFM Core Advanced on-device model.
- Compatible iPads and MacBooks need at least 12GB of memory for those advanced Siri AI features.
Siri AI is unavailable in any form on iPhones and iPads in the European Union (EU) or China. Apple attributed the EU restriction to the Digital Markets Act (DMA). EU users can access Siri AI on macOS 27 and visionOS 27.
For iPadOS 27, the iPad 10.2-inch (2020), iPad Air 10.5-inch (2019), and iPad mini 7.9-inch (2019) are the iPadOS 26-compatible models that lose support. Apple’s compatibility lists group iPads by date, size, and connectivity configuration.
