NVIDIA's DLSS Multi Frame Generation remains officially exclusive to the GeForce RTX 50 “Blackwell” Series. However, the modding community has now managed to get NVIDIA's own DLSS MFG frame interpolation technology running across three older GeForce RTX generations: RTX 40, RTX 30 and RTX 20.
Unlike earlier workarounds that substituted AMD FSR Frame Generation, these projects are attempting to run native DLSS (Multi) Frame Generation code on GPUs based on Ada Lovelace, Ampere and Turing.
The RTX 40 Series is currently the most advanced of the three older generations in this effort. Dashdogy's RTX40MFG-Unlock has developed into a universal DirectX 12/Vulkan solution for enabling MFG on Ada Lovelace GPUs.
The work remains community-led and does not change NVIDIA's official support position: DLSS Multi Frame Generation is still officially limited to the GeForce RTX 50 “Blackwell” Series.
