Surfshark has redesigned the Locations tab in its iOS app for iPhone, while also giving its browser VPN extension a visual refresh, TechRadar reports. The company says the update is intended to make server selection easier and faster.
The Locations tab is now split into Recommended and Advanced sections. Recommended combines popular country choices, recently used servers, and a dedicated IP when one has been configured. The layout places frequently used servers first, reducing the need to search through a long country list.
Advanced contains Static IP servers and Multi Hop. Multi Hop, Surfshark's version of double VPN, routes traffic through two separate VPN servers at once. Static IP servers provide the same address each time a user connects.
The redesign does not introduce a new security tool or protocol. It follows the addition of features such as category-based web filtering and blocking for specific websites, which had made the interface busier. Users open the app, tap Locations, and see Recommended by default. Tapping Advanced opens Static IP and Multi Hop, while users can return to Recommended at any time.
