Microsoft will hold a Windows and Surface event in San Francisco on October 7, more than two years after its last major Windows event. The company says the event will include a “conversation on how local AI will shape the next chapter of the PC.”
Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella and Windows and Surface chief Pavan Davuluri will attend. Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang is also scheduled to appear, which could point to a focus on RTX Spark PCs. The event may also bring information about Microsoft Surface Laptop Ultra pricing and availability, although Microsoft has not confirmed those details.
Microsoft is expected to discuss quality improvements to Windows and upcoming features. The source does not expect the company to announce Windows 12 at the event.
Microsoft last held a major Windows event in May 2024, when it unveiled new Arm-based Copilot Plus PCs and renewed its partnership with Qualcomm. Before that, the company announced Windows 11 during a livestream in June 2021.
