Lanterns episode 6 introduces Carol Ferris, a key Hal Jordan character from the 2011 Green Lantern film

According to TechRadar's Tom Power, Lanterns episode 6, titled “Bad Optics”, introduces Carol Ferris during John Stewart's investigation into Hal Jordan's apparent death in Rushville. The episode is streaming on HBO Max.

In DC Comics, Carol is Hal's long-time love interest and a former foe as Star Sapphire. Created by John Broome and Gil Kane, she first appeared in Showcase #22 in late 1959 as the daughter of aerospace executive Carl Ferris. The Zamarons later transform her into Star Sapphire, a superhuman opponent of Green Lantern.

Star Sapphire first appeared in October 1962's Green Lantern vol. 2 #16. Carol later became the leader of the Star Sapphire Corps, also known as the Violet Lantern Corps, as of 2007's Green Lantern vol. 4 #20. The source says her appearance in Lanterns does not confirm whether she will return or become Star Sapphire in the DCU.

Amie MacKenzie plays Carol. The character was previously portrayed by Blake Lively in 2011's Green Lantern, which starred Ryan Reynolds. TechRadar notes that Carol's appearance could connect the DCU to more of the seven Lantern Corps from the comics, including the Green, Yellow, Violet, Red, Blue, Indigo, and Orange Corps, but that possibility remains uncertain.
