Google launches AI voice features in Gmail, Docs and Keep

Google is launching conversational AI features in Gmail, Docs and Keep that let users ask questions about their inboxes and documents, complete tasks with natural-language queries, and dictate requests.

The company calls the features Docs Live, Gmail Live and Keep Live. In Gmail, users can ask a Gemini-powered AI assistant about their inbox instead of typing in a search box. A live transcript appears during the conversation.

In Docs, users can describe what they want to write, and the assistant helps create a first draft. It can also use information from Gmail, Drive, chat, and the web to create drafts.

Keep Live works as a scratchpad for notes without typing. It can also assemble recipes and lists from spoken requests, such as a list of ingredients for shakshouka.

Gmail Live is available to Google AI Plus, Pro, and Ultra customers. Docs Live and Keep Live are available to Google AI Pro and Ultra users. All three features will be available in English on iOS and Android. Google said it will roll them out to Workplace Business customers soon.
