NVIDIA has released GeForce Hotfix Driver 616.86 to address three bugs, including intermittent browser flickering and black screens during RDP sessions.
The release does not appear to address the monitor flickering affecting users with 8-bit displays. Complaints about flickering at 8-bit color depth increased after NVIDIA released Game Ready Driver 616.56.
NVIDIA has acknowledged the 8-bit display issue, but has not provided an OTA update to mitigate it. The company also recently released Game Ready Driver 616.64, although its release notes did not indicate a fix for the reported monitor flickering.
The 616.86 hotfix therefore addresses other reported problems while users continue waiting for a solution to the 8-bit flickering issue.
