RayNeo iO smart glasses use microphones for camera-free Life Log

At IFA 2026, RayNeo demonstrated the iO, a pair of smart glasses without a camera. The glasses connect to apps, provide AI assistance and display heads-up information in their lenses.

A redesigned app and on-device controls make iO easier to use. A physical Digital Crown dial and button lets users move between apps, while the glasses can show notifications, create memos, provide real-time translation and captions, offer information such as stock prices, and work as a teleprompter.

The standout feature is Life Log. Microphones record conversations, meetings and musings to create diary notes, activity summaries and suggested to-do items. RayNeo said recordings are not stored: the AI transcribes and summarizes them in real time on the glasses and phone. Nothing is sent to a server unless the user chooses to share it, and data sharing is not required to use the feature.

The glasses include a light to indicate recording, although the indicator may not be obvious. Audio recording still raises privacy concerns, especially when other people are involved.

iO also offers Conversation Assistance, which listens to conversations and displays suggestions for what to say next. After a brief demonstration, the reviewer described the feature as uncomfortable but called the glasses the best camera-free smart specs they had seen so far. Live captions could also help people who are hard of hearing.
