Belkin launches semi-solid-state power banks with BoostSolid Cell

Belkin has introduced its first power banks using semi-solid-state battery technology. The company says the accessories are “engineered to last up to 3x longer than other power banks” by adding a “gel-like layer” alongside the liquid electrolyte typically found in lithium-ion batteries.

Belkin says its BoostSolid Cell technology also reduces the risk of overheating that could cause swelling or fires and provides consistent power delivery across a wider temperature range.

The smaller UltraCharge Pro Slim Magnetic Power Bank 5K Qi2 15W with BoostSolid Cell costs $69.99. Belkin claims it is 40 percent slimmer than other 5,000mAh power banks. It can magnetically attach to compatible mobile devices and wirelessly deliver up to 15W. Its USB-C port supports up to 22.5W for other devices. When two devices charge simultaneously, output falls to 5W wirelessly and 12W through USB-C.

The UltraCharge Pro Power Bank 10K 60W with BoostSolid Cell and Display costs $89.99 and has a 10,000mAh battery. It can deliver up to 60W through USB-C when charging one device. Two USB-C ports and one USB-A port can charge up to three devices, with lower output. Its display shows charge level, power output, and internal temperature.
