TechRadar reviewer Christian Guyton describes the Insta360 Link 2 Pro as a straight upgrade to the Link 2, with an improved camera mechanism built into the gimbal design. TechRadar previously gave the Link 2 four and a half stars, and the Link 2 Pro received the same rating.
Insta360 launched its first webcam, the Link, in 2022, followed by the Link 2 in 2024. The Link 2 Pro uses a larger sensor and wider aperture, which the review says improve its field of view and light balance. It records 4K video at 30FPS and adds gold trim around the lens.
The webcam has a two-point gimbal for horizontal and vertical rotation, with AI-powered head tracking. Its modes include desktop mode, whiteboard mode, and pause-tracking mode. The gimbal can also point the lens directly down when the camera is not in use. Four recognition markers are included for some tracking-lock modes.
Insta360's free software provides controls for light balance, digital zoom, and tracking. The webcam also supports gesture controls, including holding up two fingers to activate whiteboard mode. Guyton says the build quality, performance, and feature set are excellent, but notes that the high price means many users may be better off with a more affordable webcam.
