AMD’s Threadripper Halo Station is a deskside workstation designed for demanding local artificial intelligence workloads. It combines a 96-core processor with AMD Instinct accelerators and up to 2.6TB of combined CPU and accelerator memory.
At its center is the Ryzen Threadripper PRO 9995WX, based on Zen 5 and offering 192 threads. AMD lists up to 2TB of RDIMM system memory, while the accelerator side can add up to 576GB of HBM3e memory. AMD claims up to 16.4TB/s of combined memory bandwidth.
The system can use four Instinct MI350P units. Each accelerator has 144GB of HBM3e memory and 4TB/s of bandwidth. AMD compares the design with Nvidia’s DGX Station, whose GB300 platform offers 748GB of coherent memory across its CPU and GPU resources.
AMD says the workstation is intended for researchers, model developers, engineers, creators, and organizations running, training, or fine-tuning large AI models locally. It can support hundreds of AI agents in the same local environment, while sensitive data and intellectual property can remain on premises. AMD unveiled a prototype at IFA 2026 and plans commercial availability for 2027. Industry estimates put fully equipped systems at around $150,000, but AMD has not announced an official retail price. Jack Huynh called it “the most powerful workstation in the world.”
